| bruno | tweed deluxe cabinet question I'm building my own cabinet, for my 5E3 deluxe project... How thick do the walls (wood) need to be I know the baffle board is 1/4" this what about the actual cabinet will 1/2" be ok? thanks |

the wood for the cab is 3/4" pine (but you can use whatever you want). the original baffles were 3/8" i think. it's pretty stinkin' hard to get that. 1/4" might hold a 12" speaker as long as you have some good ply wood. most 1/2" ply is really about 7/16" which is extremely close to 3/8". try both and see which one you like the best. |

Hi, I built mine too. I used some autocad drawings from Scott Cole if you're interested just let me know and I will send them to you. |

I'm about to start building a cabinet as well, based on Scott Cole's excellent drawings. I'm a bit confused about one detail however. On the first page, a top view shows the finger joints on the top and sides. In this view, it appears that the front most finger on the side piece is twice the width of the rest of the fingers. On page 2, the detailed drawing of the side shows all of the fingers the same width. Can anyone please shed light here? Thanks |

No, they're all the same size... You gotta think on 3D. When you look at the top view, the front most finger is the same size. What you're lookin' on the left are the bottom corners. |
