LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!
Please pardon my absence, I've been hit pretty hard recently with several viruses and have had to format and reinstall severaltimes lately.

And now...

<< as I put on my "smug" look, in humor, of course! >>

Please bow to the Lord Of Late-Night. The Rajah of research, Sultan of seeking, scouring, and scrutiny.

I believe the search is at an end. I believe I have found the elusive, invisible, unknown manufacturer of our humbucker supplies.

A year ago, I though they were Gotoh. My tireless search for Gotoh contact information led me to KMS Shokai, which, while a good lead, turned out to be a bust in the end. They had the same bobbins, but were not the mouth of the river...

I began to wonder. And I began to search harder. An hour every night turned to two, three, and even five hours every night. Searching. Tirelessly.

Untill one day, on the phone, someone erred. They said a word. I remembered that word, and I looked for it, even more fervently than before.

Nothing. I didn't know how the word was spelled! Weeks turned into months, and still nothing.

Untill...

TONIGHT. GOLD IN THEM THAR HILLS!
I looked closely at the picture on the website..I can see the "crows feet" patterns on the bobbins, although faint, they're present.

Gentlemen, I believe we have located the source.

AND... It is confirmed! KMS Shokai has just Emailed me with an affirmation that this company is, indeed, the manufacturer of our parts!

More to come...

They Email from KMS
Here is a paste of the Email from KMS...it looks like the source may be a bust too...perhaps if the order sizes are large enough...

Wolfe Tone Pickups
Attn; Mr. Wolfe Macleod

Dear Mr. Macleod,

Your e-mail sent to Quest has benn passed to us as they are one of our business group. Sorry for reply from us as all we are working in the small world.

In last year, we have sent you the samples of bobins including the ones you are purchasing from Allparts that are manufactured by company called Keiyo, not Gotoh. All other samples were from Gotoh. There are two Gotoh companies in Japan, one is making pickup and the other is making guitar hardwares such as tuning machine heads, bridges, etc..

As explained before, all those small manufacturers do not do any direct communication with foreign companies due to Japanese trade custom and we,KMS represent the products manufactured by those companies.

Considering from all above situation, we would suggest you to keep buying
the bobins from Allparts as all we, including above 3 manufacturers (Keiyo and 2 Gotoh) want to protect Allparts's business as they are giving huge
size of orders every month and there will be no way for you to get the better condition than you had in the past.

Should there be anything else you want to know, please contact us.

Best regards,
KMS SHOKAI CO., LTD.
Ted Kaihatsu

Another idea here, maybe I can get one of my customers in Japan to function as a purchasing agent since the key in the letter was they would not(quest) deal with foriegn businesses. I think that would be relatively easy to arrange for me.....

Woops...something went wrong...
Below the line "And now..."

Anyways..seems thay Keiyo forwarded my Email too Allparts. Seems the holdup in on Keioy' end, and they will "try" to get the parts shipped out around the middle of March...

geeze...I thought Japan was supposed to be about efficiency...

Japan is very effective, but it is only efficient on the surface!
That's good news Wolfe, thanx for the Sherlocking, I think this had become something of an obsession with you . So we get our HB bobbins finally end of March, hopefully.

Re: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!
Relax guys, I've just recieved confirmation that the "japan branch" of the assosiation is working on it from that end...we may be able to circumvent KMS and go direct to the manufacturer after all...
