Dont add more turns, for stringmaster 8's I use 9000 turns for anything bigger I use 8000. Mostly due to the extra length making a looser coil so its harder to pack wire on, overtensioning on a coil this long will easily warp it so its best to go a little looser. Emmons have about 16,250 turns of 42 so they sound more like a modern steel guitar pickup, the stringmasters sound more 40's-50's. |
