Hi,

I wrote up some questions the other day, but they seem to have disappeared (temporary gliche? moderator pulled?)

I'll ask some of them again, and be briefer this time, (I'll ask my other questions about balancing single coil and humbuckers in one guitar in a different thread later on):

1. 42 PE and 42 AWG, what's the difference?

2. I want to put chrome looking covers (eg like on PAFs) on my pickups for looks without effecting the magnetic field too much. Can anyone suggest a good chrome looking metal which will do this (eg stainless steel)?

3. How many winds are there per coil in a medium output humbucker? (neck and bridge positions)?

4. If you were winding a 7 string pickup, to get the same tone and output as a six string, would you wind less windings to account for the wider spool (so that you maintain the same wire length)?
