 Where to purchase magnet wire?
Anyone know where you can order #42 formar magnet wire is small quantities.  
 
 
 
I'd like to try winding a pickup or two but the cheapest deal I could find was 5 pounds of the  
 
stuff at $22 a pound. That's about 250,000 feet  
 
of it. I don't need a lifetime supply at this  
 
point.

I wouond suggest avoiding Formvar wire, at least in the beginning. Not only is it expensive, as you learned, but it can be difficult to solder with, and also breaks down over time.  
I recommend a Poly-Sol wire, or somethng else with a solderable insulation. MUCHO cheaper, too
