| swt | mixing magnets idea. Opinions. Jason?? Hi. I was just wondering if this could be usefull. I want to try a humbucker pickup with alnico rods on one bobin, and a blade with a ceramic bar on the other. Is this possible without inherent interaction/cancellation of magnet fields?. Just trying to get the right blend of sounds. Anyone interested in experimenting??. Any comments??. Thanks a lot. |

I make humbuckers like that. Alnico rods in one bobbin and ceramic bar(s) for the screw side. There is an inherent magnetic effect, and the magnet manfacturers will tell you there is a problem with degrading of the alnico magents if combined with ceramic in the same assembly, so there are some specifics that you need work out... |
