To a point with pre-amping it could become more microphonic.  
If the coil is solidified seems that the microphonics could not be coming from the coil wire however it seems they can all vibrate as a unit, the harder the compound the higher the pitch and under high preamping the more sensitive it becomes.  
The thing about clav pickups is they use a blade for a pole which adds another problem. The originals had segmented blades in 1" lengths which makes it harder to get them to oscillate, something I overlooked at first but Honer had obviously planned for.  
I have noticed blades causing microphonics in some old lap steels, another instance where if they are tightened down (usually screwed down to a baseplate) it gets worse.

Sorry For My Ignorance But, When Did Carvin Start Using Epoxy?  
The potting they used to do, was nothing more than a dip instead of a soak, but, I didn't know they went the epoxy route.

Well, the current ones I've been reworking have been wax potted....
