| LFOscalator | Can This Man Be President? Just when all seems lost in terms of political morality and the waning constitutional rights of individual citizens, out of the blue comes a voice from the past in the form of Gary Hart. Looks like Gary is once again going to make a serious run for top office. I'm normally a conservative, but this guy has some interesting things to say: http://www.garyhartnews.com/hart/ His main thesis is that the US has become an empire that is no longer controlled by the people but rather by special interests. With that I have to agree. He wants to restore the Republic as he calls it. An interesting idea that has a chance of gaining popularity. Can Gary Hart realistically become president? LFO |

The guy has serious ideas and serious experience. In fact, he was sounding the alarm about international terrorism long before 9/11... | |

It's gonna be tough for anybody to withstand the Right Wing Echo Chamber of Rove/Limbaugh/FauxNews/RantRadio. I wish him fortitude. |

LFO: How about a mixed ticket with Gary Hart and John McCain? I'd rather vote for them than Al Bush or George Gore... Steve Ahola |

McCain/Hart on an independent ticket --> much goodness. |

I think I would even vote for them. I agree that special interest groups and lobbyists have GOT to go |

| LFOscalator | A McCain/Hart ticket would be interesting and certainly not too far fetched. I noticed that Hart currently is on special assignment with Warren Rudman working on covering up holes in homeland security. Rudman, as you know, is a well known Republican and also a former US Senator. Very conceivable that Hart would be open to a bi-partisan ticket. McCain is from Arizona and Hart is from Colorado. Regionally they share some of the same values. I guess the question is whether Hart would run as an independent or as a democrat. LFO |
