Joe, perhaps I misinterpretted what you said. Hey, I'll retract my statement. Not a big deal.

All I was saying was that people have a right to express sentiments on all sides of this war, even if it does not please everybody.

Mark Hammer Update on the museum looting
A CBC news show I was listening to this morning was interviewing some antiquities experts, and apparently, some of the stuff taken out of the museum of antiquities was done very planfully, and the material has started showing up "for sale" in Paris already. One of the experts suggested that at least some portion of the looting was describable as "inside jobs" by collectors and collecting black market. It is not inconceivable that the destruction of records at the museum may have been deliberate to make recovery of these collectibles difficult to do. International law would require return of these items, but of course if there is no official record of them having existed at the museum....

Well, a quick trip to the British Museum in London will reveal that the Brits stole a bunch of stuff from around the world (Egypt comes to mind...) and now display it with pride. I have never heard of anyone saying they should return jack, so I don't know that there's anything international law could do. Well, maybe I'm wrong and the English had their own mummies as well? :D
