Kursad K an article from Washingtonpost

sounds mostly true, with the exception that critisism of military does not cause arrest anymore as long as it isn't an insult, since August 2002 and the exception that I dont think Gen.Kivrikoglu has tried to extend the period of being the TGS Chief.

[QUOTE]Do you think it's possible that while "liberating the Iraqis", we could piss off the PKK and turn them against us? (the U.S)

Most Kurds support the war. I dont know about PKK, they have lost the fight, and put the guns down, changed their name to KADEK, and they are now stirring Europe and trying to get support for their bloody party in the name of democracy and freedom.
I guess they dont like US much because CIA has captured their leader in a Greek embasy in Kenya(?) and he is now in jail in Turkey (This is supposed to be a secret, so I am not sure whether it was CIA, Mossad, or a joint operation with MIT - Turkish Intelligence Service). He has been sentenced to death, but we are supposed to respect human rights and respect his right to live, even though he has killed 30K.

What the hell? Like the US would let Bin Laden live! I recall a certain "dead or alive" statement. US gov is so hypocritic.

Yeah right, US is free to do whatever it wants. But since we are not happy to be a state from the planet Mars, alone in the middle east ideologically different from others, we think that we should join the European Union. This means, that we have to play by their rules, at least to some extent, and death sentence is prohibited in the E.U.

Well, when will US abandon the death sentence? Come on it's 21th century already, dont be like Iran:D

I think a lot of people deserve to die, and it's a waste to allow them the chance to live and cause further destruction to themselves and/or others. Don't tell me not to judge, because I'm not getting into specifics, but I think it's obvious that some people are too ignorant and evil to live.

On the other hand, when Bushy was Governor of Texas he sentenced many innocent people to death, and only a few proved themselves before they took the punishment. I'm against it because our legal system is full of loopholes for the people who can afford the right lawyers, and traps for people who are unfortunate enough to get accused so the PD doesn't look like they can't find offenders in their own country.
