Yes, they are, on both sides. I don't think it remotely 'shits on' the purpose of this thread to question how they're dying, or how many have died.

I think one of the best things we can do in honour of those at risk or already lost in this war is to look very carefully at the motives and methods of those who have sent them into it.

The fact, as Steve C. suggested, that the global public is watching very carefully, and is now much less apt to tolerate casualties on either side, may at the end of the day save lives.

Didn't you know that in wars people die so perhaps the thread had an ingenious point? Perhaps the point was that US army is liberators not invadors? Am I guilty for ruining this genuine point? That angels are sacrificing their lives for the liberity of others? or for Rumsfelds preemptive strike paranoia? If CIA and FBI had actually taken their jobs seriously and had done it well wouldn't that be preemptive enough?

The thread (as I read it)was about not forgetting those who are making the ultimate sacrifice so you can sit there behind your computer screen bad mouthing them. That's what is was about until the third post.

So you would expect the military to tell you how many lives have been lost? You shouldn't. Wars are not just done with guns. They are done with the media also. It's called psychological war. If the US military were to tell how many lives have been lost, the Iraqis would have more courage to screw them to the earth.

I've never been sorry to "bad mouth" Bush, Rumsfeld and Cheney. (In fact they should join the US army and fight themselves).

I have no problem with the ones who just obey orders. So you are supposed to remember them after they die? Too late.

I agree the thread has taken a turn in the wrong direction.
But I cannot just sit back and let someone(kursad) with no more info than the rest of us, Just selectivly declare "that's bullshit" ....when they honestly don't have any proof otherwise. Give us a little credit for thinking for ourselves, We all know the numbers will be corrected in the end and it realy is NOT the point.
