| Bradster | Problems getting on Duncan's Forum Anyone else having trouble accessing Duncan's Forum? went there a minute ago and got this: "You have been banned from this forum. Please contact the webmaster or board administrator for more information." Anyone know how to get in touch with Duncan? When you click the contact link it refers you to the forum. |

| Bradster | Never Mind Whatever it was, it has "self healed". I am able to get on the Forum now. |

| Bradster | Spoke too soon, not on yet Whup's guess I spoke to soon, trying to post or log-in gets the "banned from the forum" message. Anyone know how to get in touch with Duncan? I'm in the middle of trying to work out some specs on his PSUD program, and I'm not able to contact him (or anyone else) in the Forum. |

| Bradster | Banned Ok, I see what's up over at Duncan's forum, my post was deleted replying to paul_rosk. http://forum.duncanamps.com/viewtopic.php?t=217&highlight= paul_rosk posted:
So I was really interested and I immediately emailed him asking for those details (I was thinking schematic, layout, even napkin drawings or whatever) but his relpy to my inquiry was curt "..sorry it's copyrighted...". I was surprised at this response, so I sent another email asking why he invited people to email for details that he wasn't willing to share, paul_rosk's reply was: "...you just got the details..." So back to the Forum I posted this episode for the benefit of others and asked him (paul_rosk) why he did this as it really made me feel like I was being jerked-around over nothing. Well paul_rosk MUST be the moderator (or Duncan's pal) because my post was deleted, and I was banned. Geez I'm glad people aren't like that over here, or over at AX84. Everyone here who posts an invitation to share info or material has always come through quite willingly, as a matter of fact one fellow even photocopied some material and mailed it US Post Office paid-for at his own expense, now that is the caliber people around here. I'd really like to have dialog with Duncan regarding his PSUD software (Power Supply Design) as I can't get it to model Marshal or Fender power supplies properly and can't get it to model Hammond based power supplies (which is why I downloaded it) but considering that I'm banned from his forum that likely won't be happening. Also, be advised that paul_rosk is associated with Jersey Music http://www.jerseymusic.com/

Interesting, given that at Aron's stompbox forum for example, one of the few guidelines is that you are not allowed to "tease". In other words, no posting about ideas/designs without sharing. Not familiar with the Duncan forum, but in a diy forum, what's the point of that? Doug |

I don't know about modelling old designs (especially without the PT specs!), but I've never had any trouble with PSUD modelling Hammond-based designs... | |

Re: Banned
With a footswitch you can switch between EL34 and 6L6 output tubes! What a way to A/B power tubes right in the middle of a guitar lick!
I've done that on cathode biased amps by having a different cathode resistor/cap for each pair of tubes. A changeover switch selects which R/C is grounded. The switch is on the back panel but it could be replaced by a relay and footswitch. To do it on a fixed bias amp you'd need separate bias pots and grid resistors for each pair of tubes. Dave |
