best capacitors So does anyone no what are the best caps for sound i understand theres a lot of debate over this would like to hear anyones thoughts and opinions.I hear that electrolitic are bad for audio is that right.I have a homemade LA2A i swapped the 10uf electrolitic that feeds the output tran for a big fat expesive 8uf poly prop i had spare and it does sound nicer should i try a different type and or size. I also read that if you put smaller caps in paralel with the bigger ones supposed to give better top end if anyones got any tweaks or imrovements i would love to hear them im very green with all this but i find it fasinating and i can hear the results when recrd my vocals its great.Many thanks folks |

| LFOscalator | Good Polystyrenes sound better than Polyprop. Paralleling caps seems to work. Some high end caps are wound coaxially which means they are internally constructed by paralleling caps inside the casing. Parallel caps in theory discharge quicker for high freqs. Also paralleling reduces inductance inside the cap, which also reduces phase. |
