| Bradster | No contact for Stephen Delft or Obsolete Electronics I have been unable to contact Stephen Delft -or- Obsolete Electronics regarding moonlight transformers, anyone know what happened to either of these folks? I've got no reply from several attempts at emailing: flying.kiwi@paradise.net.nz and the email to OE keeps bouncing back "Delivery Failure": Joe@ObsoleteElectronics.Com |

| SpeedRacer | Hi - The OEI email should be working fine. Not sure why you're getting a bounce; we've had no interruptions I am aware of. Sorry you've had trouble at any rate. Simcha (Stephen) did change his email; he is now reachable at handwound@tubesandfrets.com To ans your Q, we do not stock the Moonlight PT/OT at this time although we did for a while years back. I am not sure if Simcha is still making them or not, best to check with him directly. I know he's been very busy with various projects lately. Please be patient in getting a reply from him. Thanks, Joe Pampel Obsolete Electronics |

| Bradster | Wow, thanks Joe. Can you recommend a Hammond that would work for the moonlight build? one of the 125 series possibly? |
|---|---|
| SpeedRacer | Hi - Not sure what model would work.. IIRC the 'Moonlight' is around 10 or 12K on the primary and is *tiny*. I would try out several depending on the output tube I went with. I'd also ask the folks over at the AX84 board what sorts of trannies they've used in place of the spec one. I'm sure you'll get lots of answers! - Joe |

10k or so you say? from the 125 series, could use the A or B... however, if you're looking to save some cash (or at least experiment) see if you can find a radio shack 70V line matching transformer... it was discontinued a year or so ago, they sell for under three dollars. People have had success using them in Firefly like builds. |

| anonymous | Joe, Are you still selling the handwound Delft transformers or do I need to order them directly from Simcha? I ask because I don't see you advertising them on your site. I did try to email Delft last week about a transformer I'd like for him to build for me but have had no response so far. Anyway, what I need is an output transformer for a Fender Deluxe derivative design. I did a shootout of about 6 different output transformers that include 2 Hammonds, a Deluxe OT from New Sensor and a special 2x6V6 OT from Sowter. Among these I tried the handwound Delft OT designed for 2 x EL84 applications. And you know what? The handwound 2 x EL84 Delft OT sounded noticably better than any of the other 6V6 output transformers, and that's in a 2 x 6V6 application with NFB! So, I'd either like to get another 2 x EL84 OT like the last one, or a OT he'd design specificaly for a 2 x 6V6 NFB blackface Deluxe derivative 2 x 10" combo if he's up for that kind of challenge. Thanks, John Kelley Brown |

Hi, it can take time for him to answer your email (and even more so if he comes down the flu, etc. esp. since he's running a tiny operation), but eventually he does get back to you. And a note to customers (or potential customers) in Asia: he does not carry/sell the normal OEI ones, but just the custom ones--at least that's what he told me. |
