Fender choke questions?????
Could you use a BF bandmaster choke in a BF deluxe amp? what is the difference between a choke for a 6L6 amp and a 6V6? Is there any change in sound or tone with different chokes?

Chris ( CMW amps )

Hi bd

The 6L6 choke is bigger . If you do use that one in a 2 x 6V6 amp you'll get slightly more bass , a bit more tightness and slightly more punch/power .
Anyway : it ain't no problem

hope this helps ,

The diff is the Deluxe uses a smaller choke with about the same Hys but more DC resistance and it cannot handle as much current as the larger one.
You'll get a bit more screen voltage with the larger one and the 6V6 power tubes will run very slightly higher in idle current.
Don't know about any tonal shift though.
