Re: How do I open up the midrange in Marshall?
I did have a chance to spend a few hours with the amp and it was sounding quite cool with the strat - the OD was punchy and smooth and the eq was pure Marshall, so in that sense, I am quite pleased. Surprising amount of headroom. It is also the first time I've gotten that 100lb oboe tone out of my Fuzzface since I sold my THD Plexi amp several years ago.

I'm interested in modding that mixing circuit you mentioned (I was wondering what the deal was with the different values anyway). Thanks for the suggestions. I'll post the results.

Thanks for the response(s)

You can see a lot of values in various amps like 220k or 270 k ( Fender ) and 470k ( Marshalls after late 60s ) . The higher the resistor the less effect from the unused controls , I'm using 470ks most of the time in Fender and Marshall ( a like ) circuits . The cap does make that channel more bright and cutting , you can try values between 220p and about 1n , I'm using 470pFs most of the time .

Have fun tweakin' & playing !
