LED Installation in Fuzz Face Clone Recently I've tried installing an indicator LED in my PNP FF clone along with a 3PDT switch. I can't seem to get the LED to work and may have the wiring wrong somewhere. I know the LED works because I tested it with a battery, as well as, touching it to the + battery in and negative out on the board. I've wired an LED and 3PDT switch before in my MXR Distortion + and it worked fine. One thing I should mention is that I do not have an AC adapter jack installed in the pedal because I use batteries. On the MXR, the + battery wire goes to the AC adapter jack and then is jumpered to the board. It also has the side of the LED without the resistor (anode?) connected to this point. The cathode of the LED goes to one pole of the switch with the other pole going to ground. I guess my question is....without the adapter jack, where does the LED anode go? The + battery wire? Should they go to one of the tabs on the stereo input jack? I tried this along with a jumper to the board, but it didn't work. I tried so many different wirings that my head began spin! Can anyone help me?! Thanks in advance, Vic |

It should go where the power is going. To your board. The red wire. the black wire goes to ground on the switch. Good luck!!! |

measure the led to see if it's not fried as well - a 9V block can do that. A series resistor is needed to keep the led from burning out and keep power consumption down. |
