I almost forgot. If you feed one of these pedals more than 15 volts, you should change the 16V (look on the label) electrolytic capacitors in the circuit to ones which have higher voltage ratings. Use 25 volt capacitors to stay safe.  
 
Finally! On the market now is a nicely made pedal at barberelectronics.com which is "high voltage ready", check it out, the Direct Drive pedal.

Soren Germanium Diodes
Someone on Aron's site mentioned they liked the sound of germanium diodes (1n 60 for ge) over the silicon diodes.

I could only find the schematic of the DOD 250 on Aron's site so to be exact:  
 
The series input cap on the YJM 308 is .001uf.  
The cap in the YJM 308 gain loop is .047uf.  
The series output resistor is 10k.  
 
The series input cap on the DOD 250 is .01uf.  
The cap in the DOD 250 gain loop is .056uf.  
The series output resistor is 100k.  
 
I checked these values with a capacitance meter and found these shiny dark green caps are very accurate.
