Re: Fender Deluxe Layout / Mission Layout
Not much more... all those Ecaps from the past were rated at + or - 20% but almost always favored about +25%! ha ha

Bruce,

What about the heater wiring. I'm especially interested in the "virtual" center tap using the 100 ohm resistor pair. What if my PT has a center tap? Would it be better to use it. I've heard that it's safer for the PT to use the resistor pairs.

Thanks

Safer? Maybe, but all you have to do is "fuse" it.
Use a 47 ohm to 100 ohm 1/2w resistor on that center tap and ground the other end of the resistor close to the high voltage center tap ground.

Bruce,

So I ground it rather than connect it to the cathodes of the output tubes?

Thanks

Either is fine if you also use the 47-100 ohm resistor.

Is there any particular advantage of one over the other?

Also, why does your circuit beef up the wattage on the power supply resistors?

Thanks

Because I have to warranty some things and higher wattage resistors don't change the sound but do increase longevity of the circuit and in my kit the are metal oxide which is more flame proof.
