I'm currently building his 5E3. First, Mike Marsh is a really helpful and patient guy. He's answered numerous questions and pretty much guided me through and educated me about the amp. He told me himself that his business is based on helping the customer. As far as quality, let me just say this: having seen real tweed Deluxes and having owned tweeds, and a Victoria, I'd say the quality is definitely there. Victoria is similar, thought Victoria leads you to believe that they make the cabinets, have a special tranny guy, etc. Basically, the whole Victoria thing is commissioned to parts dealers, as far as I could tell. Basically, in looking at this Marsh amp, it has nearly identical markings on all the parts as the Vicky did. My Marsh has carling switches, Spragues, Orange drops, fiber eyelet board, cloth wire (some solid wire), voltage correct tranny, paper interleaved Triad type OT. Perfect chassis, cab. If corners were cut IMO, it was on speaker and tubes. I'd highly recommend his kits, and Mike Marsh himself. I'll post a response whenI get the amp up and running. |
