Okay, I think I understand. I'm sure there are more than one way to do the attachment. I just want to make sure the baffle and speaker assembly has a solid support. The speaker & baffle has a bit of weight plus the vibration factor from the speaker.  
 
Another thought: How have you attached grille-cloth to the baffle?

just use a staple gun, either manual or electric will work. there is a link in this forum to the 5e3 home page where tom shows you how to tolex and install grill cloth.

I used a staple gun. Did a mediocre job of it too, hence no pix of the process.  
 
I followed Jeff Suits' pictorial on attaching grill cloth. May still have the pix somewhere.

you can find jeffs tutorial if you go to weber vst, go to bulletin boards, go to the left column and pick enclosures, at the top you will find jeffs tutorial.
