guitar tremelo problem I have an early 90's Kramer focus classic which is just like a standard strat. There is a hole in the tremelo block about a 1/4 inch from where the bar goes in. i believe this hole was caused by the bar not being all the way in and when i pushed the bar down, a hole was punched in the block. I have been searching for a new block, but i have had no luck. All i can find is a complete tremelo, so i figure if i'm goning to have to buy i whole new tremelo, i should get a better quality one. The tremelo currently on my guitar is a vintage strat type with six small screws holding it to the body. I was wondering if i could get a newer 2-pin American standard type and have it work in my guitar with only 2 pins. |

You can...but: It's a fairly skilled job to get the new bushes in exactly the right place. You may need to plug the old holes and refinish to get it looking pretty again. I think the 6 pin with folded steel saddles are the best sounding. Are you sure that a fender tremolo block won't fit? They are available as a spare part from your fender dealer. I've fitted many of them. Alternatively try WD. They do a lot of tremolo parts. Liam | |
