You can also look for the manufacturer's source and date code on the back or side of the pots. The last three or four digits are year and week as in 6102 would mean 1961, 2nd week in the year. In the 60's, they dropped the first digit so you might have 434 as a number for example, meaning 1964, 34th week of the year. The first three or four numbers of the code tell the manufacturer of the pot.  
 
 
 
Speakers are the same way, first three or four numbers are manufacturer, last three or four are the date of production.
