Re: to those who built one--question This sounded like a fun project. I built mine as small as possible, http://www.teleport.com/~mrriggs/Smokey06.jpg . I used 3.5mm jacks instead of 1/4" to cut down on size. I also left out the built in speaker since a tiny speaker never sounds good. It has a 9 volt jack built in so it just clips onto the top of a 9 volt battery. I mostly use it with a set of head phones but it sounds pretty good hooked to the 12" speaker in my combo. It sound good enough that it will replace my tube combo when I'm just dinking around and practicing, unless the roomy is gone. Brett |

I used the same schematic they had posted earlier http://home.hetnet.nl/~chrisdus/download/smokey.gif . A 3.5mm jack is wired to the input and a 3.5mm jack is wired where the speaker is shown, of coarse the speaker is hooked through the jack. I used cords with 3.5mm plugs at both ends with a 1/4" adapter at one end of each cord, cause thats what I had laying around. Brett |
