Re: MOSFET stage w/diode (for Aron) Joe, I'm sure the resistor in series with the diode is too large - basically it's not doing anything. Also, you really need a finite source impedance. The path I was going down is to use a much lower resistor, then connect the lower end (K) of the diode to a DC source. In a sense, it's more like the darlington configuration in the Peavey patent. My hope was since the MOSFET sound more like tubes themselves the net product would be better than the JFET/BJT version used by Peavey. I'd like to encourage people to play around with such a circuit running at 20-40V or so. I really believe in time we will be able to approach a tube sounding unit. Unfortunately my MOSFET order was delayed and I won't get them until Monday. Regards Rob |
