Re: L.C. Humble pedal! - it was solder! Just to record this amazing tibdit. The problem with my preamp was solder accumulating on the bottom of the grid pin. The grid pin is close to the high voltage plate pin and I GUESS the solder or solder run-off (flux???) was conducting voltage????? 300mv worth of it causing hum. I found this out by testing for voltage at the grid pin. Sucked the solder off the bottom of the pin, resoldered the wire and everything's fine. unreal. |
