Permanent Address for The Blue Guitar
    Instead of trying to figure out where I'll be "crashing" this week (admittedly not the best choice of words for a computer-based endeavor...) I have registered the domain name of blueguitar.org and moved my site over to csoft.net

P.S. Many thanks to tboy and AMPAGE for hosting The Blue Guitar since February!

Congratulations, Steve!

Just to nip the inevitable string of "where is it?" complaints in the bud, I thought I'd mention that the domain name has not yet had time to propagate throughout the internet, so give it a day or two and just use the alternate address until then.

    Speaking of links, what is the preferred link for AMPAGE? I noticed that some of the old links do work but they don't display all of the ads on the home page... Actually now that I think about it maybe that isn't so bad!   :D

Steve Ahola

P.S. As for recognizing new domain names, does it matter what ISP someone is using, or the page that he is clicking from, or what? Thanks!

Well, the preferred link would be "one that works!"

Seriously though, the recent problems with dead links and missing pages/sites have been caused by a rather ridiculous string of untimely events that resulted in the ampage.org and firebottle.net domains being transferred to a new provider, and some unanticipated delays in getting that accomplished. I'll be cleaning up the mess for a while yet, but at least I can now see the light at the end of this wacky tunnel.

The various domain registrars send out updates several times a day, so as soon as your local ISP gets the information for blueguitar.org in their DNS database you'll be able to click on a link to it and go there.

    The blueguitar.org link has been working for me since yesterday but the "whois" utility at csoft doesn't recognize it yet... and that is the server that is hosting my site!   :(

    I put some links to AMPAGE on the main pages of my site using your testlogo.gif drawing from the firebottle.net home page:

" target="_blank">http://hail-eris.com/~blue_gtr/ampage4.gif">

    Here's the graphic I used in case someone wants to download it:

P.S. Here is the HTML code I used for my link to AMPAGE on the "contents" frame on the left. I'm sure it will display strangely but this code can be copied and pasted from the reply window if someone else wants to add a link to AMPAGE...

http://www.firebottle.com/ampage/"
TARGET="Body1">SRC="ampage4.gif" WIDTH="112" HEIGHT="24" X-SAS-UseImageWidth
X-SAS-UseImageHeight ALIGN="BOTTOM" NATURALSIZEFLAG="0">

    And this is the code I used for the main frame on the right (the image is not scaled down):

http://www.firebottle.com/ampage/"
TARGET="Body1">SRC="ampage4.gif">

    Or do you have some other images we can download to use for links to AMPAGE?
