Bassman to bluesmaker

Delch	Bassman to bluesmaker Has anyone built the John McIntyre Bluesmaker mod to a blackface bassman? Ive built one and I like it. If anyone has built it, how does yours sound and is there any other cools mods to add to this mod?

I built mine right after the article appeared. I didn't follow the mod completely. I built mine to have two seperate channels, no blend control and didn't put in the presence switch. I did mod the negative feedback loop with a switch and a resistor. The switch shorts the resistor out. I don't remember the resistor value right now. What this does is change the damping of the amp, the speakers are "looser" when the resistor is in circuit. As for sound, I love it. The clean channel is very clean. Almost Hi-Fi. The Hi gain channel is like a late 60s Marshall. All my friends like this amp. Like the article says this head kicks butt! By the way I am using a Marshall 4X10 cab. I am thinking of adding a pentode/triode switch. This may be a good mod or not. I will post here if it works out ok.

Jethro Tull Bodine	BOY HOWDY!!..one crankin amp. I followed the scheme to the "T" ..used a trashed SF..smooth compressed and plenty O tone. McIntyre got it right!! oh.. 4x12 w old greenbacks

Here are direct links to the Bluesmaker files on my site. The layout drawing is a rough sketch by J.M. himself to give you some idea how to stuff a stock bassman eyelet board with his circuit. (Thanks to the AMPAGER's who sent me these great files, along with a copy of the GP mag that the article appeared in!)
