Deluxe BF vs. SF
How would you describe the differences in TONE between Deluxe Reverb BF and SF?

Why would you suggest to convert SF to BF, considering that the speaker remain the same (my SFDR has CTS)?

Thanks in advance

Giacomo,

Depends on the year of your SF amp. In some cases the bias cct is better, and the tone can be tweaked to provide better response. What year was your amp made?

I think it's about 1977.

The BF uses a 5AR4 rectifier. The SF uses a 5U4 due to availability at the time and increased voltages to compensate for the voltage loss in the 5U4. Therin lies the difference. In one of my last bands one guitar player had a SF and the other a BF. They were pretty much interchangeable.
