Dumble-Clone Builders....Impressions please!
To the few of you that built a Dumble clone...Is it worth the effort? I am considering building a clone as my next project and am curious about your impressions of the design and it's tonal characteristics. Is it a pretty versatile preamp design? It sounds as if the OD is very smooth with a good sustain and this is what I'm looking for.

Comments, opinions (objective and subjective) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

The overdrive is smooth to my ears. The combination of preamp and poweramp have very interesting dynamics. It seems as if the notes jump out of the amp. I really like mine, as it suits my style of playing (thin pick, medium strings, rather soft touch). More Fender than Marshall, by far...Hope this helps. I don't regret doing it at all. BTW, the second channel of mine has a plexi-style preamp, which sounds very good with the Dumble-clone output section....
