Date of an old ampeg Hello all, I've found an *OLD* ampeg bass head at a local shop. I have no idea of the age of the amp or what it may be worth. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I may find out this information? Thanks, Ben Benaminz@aol.com |

Here's the info I have on the amp. model..... V-4B Serial#... 155451 Any Idea how old it might be or what it may be worth? It's in really good shape, and it sounded so good that I went ahead a bought it. The only problem that I've found is that the volume pots crackle when I turn them and the bass boost switch is faluty. thanks benaminz |

| Trace | Ben; It's the old V-4 guitar amp. They aren't bad at all really. I'd grab some contact-spray and spray those pots...make sure to turn them 5-10 times after you spray them. Chanced are they are just dirty. Spray the switch as well and see if this cures the problem Hope it helps; Trace |

I'm racking my brain for the spot on the 'net that has the info about the date/manufacturer codes : these are stamped into the pots and the basket of the speaker, they will tell you when the POTS and SPEAKER were built, but not exactly when the AMP was built (obviously at some later time but not always soon after.) Anyway some AMPAGEr may know? -j |
