MXR pedal broke....

MXR pedal broke....

I need a little help.. my MXR EQ broke after I hooked it up at the wrong voltage with an adapter and now all it does is hum... I'm pretty sure an IC went out -- but it has 3 of them and i dont know how to test them out... can anyone point me in the right direction.. i need to figure out which one fried.. and what part I can replace it with... preferable something low-noise... thanks..

I have a MXR Dist. + that did the same thing. I just replaced all of the chips(2-3?) and its sounds better than it did. Take down the numbers and go to you local electronics shop to cross reference them for new ones........also, you might E-mail R.G. for the correct replacement, he is quite the pedal expert! The chips for those pedals are like $2.55 for a pack of ten! For that price.....replace them all! If one has gone out, then the others will be next in line.
