Again info on old amp, plea$e
Hi, it's me again.

Now I would like to now how much could I ask for that old amp I mentioned a week ago or so.

Some kind people answered me about the type of tubes and age data (1930's) but I can't remember their names and addresses, so I had to post this message on this Open Forum.

It is possible to see photographs of this amp, and again, the tube #s, at:

http://www.ayz.com/amp/ampli.html

Right! Thanks a lot, again.

Please answer to my email if possible.

A possible buyer is coming to see the amp on thursday, and I have no idea about how much money should I ask for this amp.

Hello again, John. Great looking amp! Wish I could help you on the price, but you might be interested to know that Antique Electronic Supply lists used 2A3's for $33 each. Some of the other tubes may be as valuable. If you'd like to check, the url is www.tubesandmore.com. BTW, they should also have prices for 2X2A3 PP output transformers. Additionally, the PT for your amp may have special windings for the directly heated 2X2A3 output stage- useless for a guitar amp but priceless if the buyer is building a hifi amp. In fact, with a few mods, your amp would probably make an excellent amp for use with high efficiency hifi speakers, such as Klipschorns. Anyway, good luck!

Yes, it was you.

I couldn't remember your name.

Thank you very much for your help.

The person who is interested in the amp

wants it as it is...

I'll visit that url too.

Thanks again, MKB. Indeed.

Hey John,

I also replied to your post and I agree that the power tranny probably has separate filament windings so the the bias on each 2A3 can be adjusted individually due to the high tranconductance (this assumes cathode bias). Also, beleive it of don't, the output tranny's primary impedance is probably similar to a 6L6's - older electronics publications list the same transformer numbers for these tubes.
