Amp for electric piano - - Hey - I have a Wurlitzer 200a EP and a Hammond M100. I just got a leslie for the Hammond, but I'm still wondering what i should run my Wurly through for gigs - something fairly portable with a reasonable price. Any suggestions? thanks |

Sly- The obvious answer would be some modern, lightweight ss amp with eq and so forth built in. However, for a sound with real depth and soul to it, I'd recommend a Ampeg Gemini II or VI or a portaflex with a 15" like a B15N. The Portaflex would give you more ooomph, the Gemini would give you reverb and trem. Our keyboard player left his Crate at home Sunday, and his Yamaha DX7 sounded completely different (and better!) through my Gemini VI. A guy I played with years ago pumped a Wurlitzer through a B12XT (2-12" JBL's) and that was the ultimate, but heavy and pretty rare and expensive now. |
