| nic | buffing compound? The guitar reranch suggest using a product by 3M called Finesse-it II to go from #2000 grit paper to final gloss. Unfortunately I don't think they supply it and I don't know where to locate it locally or online. What do you do to get the mirror gloss shine? nic |

Why not use rotten stone? I have used it in finishing fine furniture many time with terrific success. try using it in a poltice with lemon oil or even mineral spirits. Available at any paint store and most hardware stores and real inexpensive. |

I agree with Earl. I use rotten stone and mineral oil on a soft cotton rag rolled into a ball. It works great. |

would'nt hurt to look there. If you don't find it at HD you might look at a real paint store or an ACE Hordware store. |

Try the auto paint store. Look for one with Dupont paints. They also do 3-M I think. Other than that you can stop at about 800 or 1000 grit and power buff like the Stew Mac set up. I've done this with great success. Crystal clear as the saying goes. The 3-M type buffing liquids are for rotary polishing. Look into back issues of Fine woodworking magazine for an article on this system of polishing. It would be about two years ago or less and the article was very in depth! Good luck, Ben |
