| Lemanruss | Trem bar replacement Well, not really a replacement, I forgot to ask for it when I bought the guitar! I recently got a squier affinity strat for my 4th guitar(doesnt sound half bad! besides, I allways wanted a big headstock strat) a month ago, and I need to know what type of tremolo bar I should get that would fit. I was told by someone at another board to just get a American Standard Stratocaster bar, but I dont want to risk it. I bought it in another state, so i cant go back to the store, so If any one could tell me which ones squier uses for the affinity series, or anything else, I'd appreciate it. Thanks, Leman Russ |

I'm fairly certain that the Am Std arm is not the one that fits your Squier trem block. The less expensive import guitars use metric threads, not the US threads. Try an arm for any other import guitar if you can't get the right Fender one. I bet one from a typical Ibanez or Yamaha Pacifica would screw in. |

I purchased a replacement trem arm from Guitar Center, that I thought was Amer. threads but turned out to be metric. I managed to get a tap from an auto parts store 5mm x 1.00 and made the repair. It was for a guitar I was fixing for my son and the hole in the trem block was messed up anyway.I had to plug the old hole and re-drill it. It worked out fine for me but you should really check the thread pitch to be sure. Mike O |

| LemanRuss | How do I check the thread pitch? Why wouldnt I use the hole width for a fitting size? Thanks! Leman Russ |

Why don't you just bring the guitar to wherever you buy all your other stuff and check out what they are using. |
