it will technically be useable within hours, but I usually let it go a day or two

it may not be much better than oil alone against long term stain problems - I think only a "thick" finish will do that - but it's a nice looking and feeling dress, especially for rosewood/other unfinished fingerboards

note: won't work that well on teak or other oily woods that don't soak it up

CJ Landry	Thanks for the great suggestions. My fret board is maple and from what both suggestions suggest is either wood conditioner/sealer should be OK for a Maple neck, correct? CJ
