noise and ground My main amp makes a hum noise when standing near with the guitar pluged in, guitar vol at 10, and the amp itself with the vol more than half open. It changes in intensity from one guitar to another, at it seams to be not always there (the noise like bad ground; the hum stays more or less normal) When too near to the amp and when this happends, I found that touching the metal jack of the speaker (it's externaly conected) the output of the amp decreases radically, more than half in volume, but the noise and hum dessapear. With the guitar on a floor stand, touching the strings decreases the amount of hum (I call it hum...) but that has been always normal in my experience with amps/guitars that exhibit some minimal ground (unsufficient shield?) noise. Sometimes, if i just place my hand behind the neck, not even touching the wood, the noise changes in intensity or frecuency. When this happends I find myself acting as a living cap... JC |

Last minute note. My 21" and 17" monitors in the next room (I'm more or less a graphic designer) have a LOT to say about those noises I just realized. JC |
