Brightening a 5E3
Any advice as to how I can add a Vox-ish type chime to one channel of a 5E3 clone?

I like the way my strat sounds in the bright channel(tone set 1/2 way) but a hollow bodied p-90 sounds too dark and garbled even w/ the tone set higher.

I use a .033 as the coupling cap in the bright channel, the normal channel is stock. I was thinking of adding a 330-470pf cap across the normal channel's volume pot, and changing the couping cap to a .02. Would this do the trick?

Thanks in advance.

leave the clean channel alone. On the 'dark' channel, change the cathode bypass cap to 0.68uF, and change the coupling cap to 0.0047 uF. try that. Also try using a a "y" cord and jumpering channels if you find that too thin, with the mix, you should get it. If it's still too dark at lower volumes, you could use a 250pf bright cap, wired like on the 'bright' channel. Adding in a bit of NFB may also help you get there.
