Marshall Presence Cap?

Ethan	Marshall Presence Cap? Hi, I'm working on a modded 4 input 70's Marshall. Does anyone have opinions on .68 or .1 for cap on presence pot? It has a big goofy Taiwan .68 currently- Ethan

The .1 gives you the hissy biting prescence sound. The .68 has the effect of practically eliminating the feed back loop entirely except for the bass frequencies. You get less clean headroom with it turned up all the way and a fatter sound but when the amp is cranked up you get much more output distortion just as if you removed the feedback loop only the bass stays tight. I like the .68 and my Marshall inspired amps have a switch to go from .1 to .68.

Ethan	Hi Peter, thanx for the info. I guess I'll stick with the .68, definitely not after a biting hissy sound, most old Marshalls are biting enough I figure. Ethan
