Re: EI factory---gone 4 good, or no?/RUBY and EH tubes
Every time I talk to them about that new Chinese factory I get blown off.
SOP for Magic Parts is to say "the Chinese govt is stalling a few things but the new 7025STRs should be ready in a few more months." It's been what.... two years now?
I really doubt it will happen anytime soon since the Chinese are still very angry over their embassy bombing in Yugoslavia.
Their view of the recent "slap on the wrist" of those involved in that mistake by our govt probably hasn't helped either.
I think they want someone executed, maybe like they would do for lessor "crimes".

Has anyone else tried the new SOVTEK 12AX7EHs?

Bruce, I heard the Sovtek 12AX7EH is just a new name for the 12AX7LPS.

Yes, my New Sensor rep told me the same story too.
If so, why do you think they are going to keep the LPS line going?

That seems to make sense except for one thing— it seems like the Chinese are exporting more stuff to us than ever! Like many of the computer boards that used to come from Taiwan or Korea are now coming from China.

Or maybe Magic Parts would have problems over there because they are an American company, while the other companies are Chinese...?

Steve,
That's because an earthquake leveled most of the computer parts factories on Taiwan. Pretty convenient for the Chinese, dontcha' think? Of course China would NEVER conduct research into ULF induced earthquakes! (and I'll bet they've got some REALLY killer amps pushing them too)

Well, maybe they tunneled under the water and brought over a shitload of subwoofers connected to SVT's... (That would also explain the shortage of the big power tubes!)

Steve - i just spoke with Sharon at Magic Parts (Ruby) this past Wednesday. She said the factory isn't ready yet. They were very low on their entire stock of 12AX7's. She also mentioned that chances are they'll be making a big announcement when the Chinese tubes are available.
