Tweed 5E3 Deluxe Transformer

I want to say that it is a pleasure to lurk here and the knowledge level of the people on this board is amazing. I am trying to gather the parts for a 5E3 deluxe amp and was wondering where to get transformers. I have checked out the Hoffman site, Angela site a few others. But are there any others that come recommended. Also is there a particular Schumacher power and output transformer that would work best in this amp ? Their selection is a little overwhelming for me at this time. Any help would be appreciated.

Don Jerkins	Gerald Weber at Kendrick amplifiers used to sell REAL GOOD trannies for the 5E3. He even had an 11 winding interleaved special for it, if you want to hot rod it. He also has the correct trannies, of course. Check their site: www.kendrick-amplifiers.com Good Luck, Don T. Jerkins

Carlo	Hi SA, since the new trannies from New Sensor are made by Schumacher, you may want to go to their site to see what they have for the 5E3. I believe you need to be a business to get a discounted price, but you still might find the info you need and a dealer that carries what you're looking for. SA	Re: Correction to original post. New Sensor does sell direct to individuals at retail prices but they do not list the New Schumacher stuff yet. In the original post i meant Hammond, been one of those days. SA

Carlo	Here's a couple of suggestions for a Hammond PT that could be used for (2)6V6, (2)12AX7 and (1)5Y3. 270DX 275-0-275 90mA 5v@2A 6.3v@3A 270EX 275-0-275 125mA 5v@3A 6.3v@4A Personally I would use the 270EX. As for a Hammond OT, the 1650F (8k to 4-8-16 ohm P-P CT 25w) looks pretty good. Although, to be honest, i'm not sure what imp ratio the Deluxe actually uses. HTH, Carlo
