John Stokes Hoffman reverb board
Hey guys, has anyone tried Hoffman's replacement board for Fender's reissue reverb? I just ordered one for mine, and was wondering what other's results may have been. The picture on doug's web page makes the unit look first class. Good parts and workmanship. Any feedback? Thanks.

Mr Stokes, All of hoffmans boards are of top shelf quality. I have used a number of his bassman boards and they are great.Besides he will also sell you just the board so you can install your own parts. One great guy to do bussiness with.

I just put one of his Plexi boards in a Marshall 4010 1x12 combo, and the board is a wondefully crafted unit. I can't say enough about it, and Doug Hoffman is a great guy too. I just ordered a Fender board and another Plexi board. I get the plain boards and used my own parts. Fired up the first time. The layout sheet and instructions are excellent. Worth every penny.

If your not happy with the "tight" sound of
the re-issue, you should give the Torres
stand-alone reverb kit a look. As I remember
it can be purchased as a "stuffed board only"
kit (without chassis). It uses a great circuit
that fits right into your existing box. The
nice thing about it is that Dan understands
what a REAL stand-alone reverb should be like.
You can get ALL the classis sounds from this
one. I think he has designed circuits for
BOTH 6V6 or 6K6 operation. Be careful not to
wreck your rig with a "butcher-mod" kit some
of these "Johnny-come-latelys" are putting
out. Remember, Dan has his own line of amps,
he is not one of these guys who only sells
non-original epoxy board kits.

Good Luck,
Tim

Hi Tom, do you realize who you're saying this to? 8 0 (hee hee) BTW, Hoffman has been around for some time now, also had his own line of amps and is a great guy to do business with. I must say the layouts on his site were a big help when i was getting started...(love that simplified AC30).

Looks like another troll to me, Carlo. I'm sure "Tom" knows full well who he's baiting the hook for.

Of course there's no email address, and it's signed by "Tim" (short attention span?). And then there's the two other posts from "Tom" where he further extols the virtues of DT, all three posted within minutes of each other.

Maybe it's time I started handing out usernames and passwords...

Not that I agree with the idea, but it sure did clean up the VG forum once people realized that they couldn't hide behind pseudonyms.
