JFET question's
Hello all,

I am getting ready to try my hand at building the double throw JFET switch in O'Connor's book. I am looking through Mouser right now and I can't seem to find any of the JFET numbers he lists in the book.
Can someone please advise me as to which JFET I should buy to make this circuit work correctly?

One more thing..........What's the deal with listing caps in nF instead of uF? He lists a 100nF for the input jack to reduce noise.....is this the same as 100000uf?

Thanks for the help!

Benjamin.

Come on, Ben... don't you know your prefixes?

nF is nanofarads, which is 10E-9. That makes it precisely 1000 times smaller than a uF. 1000 nF's make up a uF, so 100 nF's is equivalent to 0.1 uF.

100,000 uF??? Jesus, that's rather large.

Ken,

That's what happens when you are learning everything self taught and in a shotgun fashion.
Without any formal schooling.......some of the little simple things get left out along the way.
I have only encountered uF in text up until this point.
I guess I should have thought about it a little more.
Thanks for clearing that up!

Hey.......how about some help on the JFET thing instead of
just hanging me out to dry!:>)

Thanks,
Benjamin

ben, how about tell us the part numbers so that i don't have to go find my damned KOC books?

Ken,

All of these JFET's are suggested as options for the muting circuits.

I do really appreciate the help!
