No grid stoppers in 5F6A
Hi,

Is recommendable to put some grid stoppers in this
circuit or will it be ok

I assume you're talking about control grid stoppers on the output tubes (not screen grid resistors).

It's OK to leave them off, but I would strongly recommend them if you play the amp a high volumes. A 1K5 or 2K2 resistor on each socket certainly won't change the tone of the amp, but might improve the overdrive sound when the amp is cranked.

Thanks Jim,

That have to be it, 'cause I thought
that the cranked sound wasn't that good.
I seem to have too much filtering also.

I put the JCM 800 5.6k values across my 73 50 watt Marshall's tubes, and though it didn't seem to change the tone,it might have made my output tubes a bit more stable at cranked volumes, and it also seemed to remove some distortion "hash" or "harshness" when the amp is cranked all the way up?My 50 watt JCM 800 had these across it's output tubes too, hence the idea for my 73 head! You can start much lower though, say 1k and work your way up,but the Marshall 5.6k works fine in my amp.
