Hello, Can anybody let me know where to get Ampeg B-15N 1975 original or replacement speaker, cheap! My speaker cones attacked by pestilence.

Thanks

look at the numbers on the back of the speaker. the first few digits (3 i think) identify the manufacturer. if you post them here, perhaps somebone can look them up for you.

If i am not mistaken it is made by eminence. But i am not sure whether i can get the original driver. But if there is i will be glad but if the price is reasonable.
Nowadays the bass speakers are rated by hundred of watts. Where else my ampeg amp is rated maybe around 30-40Wrms using 6L6, barely enough to move the cone of the speaker.
l would like a suitable driver which sound comparable with the original, cheap and nice. Heh, heh ask to much.
Who knows maybe there is.

Many portaflex models could be purchased with a JBL speaker as an option. The JBL D140 is often used in B-15's and isn't really a power-pig like some 15s can be. If staying stock is a goal here then JBLs should be ok. They are pretty expensive though.

Thanks for your info, I didn't know that portaflex uses JBL140D. I thought it is only used for SUNN enclosure. By the way is it the same driver.

Do i need to modify my existing old cabinet to fit in this JBL driver.

To get JBL drivers in my place is very much easier. The dealer is nearby to me.

Thanks and Regards

Stanly, I recently replaced a B15N driver with an Eminence driver form the Antique Electronic Supply catalog ( www.tubesandmore.com) I believe it cost around $40US and it sounds great! Nice and efficient, and warm too. If you're gonna play guitar thru the amp, I'd go with one of thse. If you're going to use it for bass, the JBL mentioned earlier would be an excellent choice.
