Ricky what is the pupose of this resistor?
some amps have this resistor and and some don't. it's the resistor in the phase inverter that connects the 10k and .1uf cap(in fenders) to the ground. there's a schematic on this website called "the lark" in which the values are 6k8 and .1uf and are connected to the ground via a 1k5 resistor. what does this resistor do? Ricky

This resistor is used in amps that have negative feedback. If you look at a VOX AC30 it has not this resistor, Marshalls and Fenders have. Take a look at Randall Aiken's site for a good explanation of every component of the "long tail" PI.

well, that's what I thought, however, the "lark" schem shows no NFB. thats what threw me. Ricky
