Does anyone know the uF value and voltage rating of those electrolytics found in disposable cameras ??

There was a big can of worms... I mean long debate over the merits of these caps about... 5 months ago?

Wish the archives worked.

IIRC the consensus was that risk of early failure (and resulting collateral damage) made them not worth the price.

But then, my memory ain't what it once was.

I think the consensus was that they are rated high voltage
only under controlled slow charge conditions, not for
continuous duty as a filter at that voltage.

IOW, if you used 'em for a filter, the 500v rating would
drop to somethink like 100v or so (I'm guessing)

Pretty much the doubts I had also.

Still seems like a big waste to trash all that circuitry (xenon flash, mini-transformer, neon etc) - unless they re-use it somehow.

The clue would be whether the processing shops recycle them back to the mfr, or just to the local landfill.

I think kodak reloads film and reboxes the guts , several places that I've asked refuse to give 'em up .
