When I started trying to figure all of this stuff out (and I'm still a LONG way from having it down), a nice old guy on the net recommended a couple books that have been really useful. _Essentials of Radio_ by Slurzberg and Osterheld and _Radio Servicing, Theory and Practice_ by Abraham Marcus Both of these explain tube theory in an easy to assimilate manner. Although I've got quite a tube book collection now, I still refer to these often. BTW, these are long out of print, but you can find them on sites like www.bibliofind.com.
