 OT for 4EL84's
Can anyone recommend what Hammond OT would be best suited to 4 X EL84's in fixed bias with B+ running around 300v (i.e what primary impedence would best match this tube complement)? An OT in the 25W-40W rangewith 5000-6600ohm primary? Hammond 1650H? Can I get away with 1650G or 1645? Thanks for any suggestions.

The AC30 ran a 4K primary imp which may be more what you're looking for. Not sure which Hammond part # fits this.

1645 or 1650N are in the 4K primary range with enough meat to handle the quad of 84's.  
 
Other models are possible if you, say, run 8 ohms on the 4 ohm taps etc...
